Why I can’t magically fix your chakras for you

There’s something I’ve been noticing more and more in my sessions lately. Every once in a while someone comes in hoping I’ll wave a magic wand. They want the block removed, the anxiety gone, the chakra cleared, and everything to be better when they leave.

I understand that desire. When you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by something in your life, of course, you want relief. That’s human.

And yes, Reiki can absolutely help with that.

During a session I can feel where energy is stagnant or heavy, and Reiki helps move that energy. Chakras can open, rebalance, and start flowing again. Clients often leave feeling lighter, calmer, and clearer than when they arrived.

But here’s the honest part of the conversation that doesn’t always get talked about.

I cannot live your life for you.

Chakras are not switches that get flipped once and stay that way forever. They are part of a living system that responds to your thoughts, your beliefs, your emotions, and the patterns you practice every day.

For example, we might clear and open the heart chakra during a session. But if someone continues replaying the same resentment or hurt day after day, the energy in that center can tighten again.

Or we may strengthen the solar plexus, which is connected to confidence and personal power. But if someone keeps ignoring their boundaries and saying yes when they mean no, that center can weaken again over time.

Energy follows attention, and the body learns from repetition.

Many energetic blocks are connected to long-held patterns. These patterns often begin years earlier. Sometimes they come from childhood experiences. Sometimes they come from family conditioning. Sometimes they start as coping strategies that once helped someone survive a difficult situation.

When we clear a chakra, we interrupt the pattern for a moment and create space. But clearing the energy does not automatically erase the pattern itself.

This is something that became very clear in a recent session.

A client booked a Reiki and Akashic Records combo session. We spent most of our time in the Records identifying patterns that have been repeating in her life for years. We were able to see where some of her beliefs began and how those beliefs have quietly influenced her choices.

It was deep work and a lot of insight came through.

By the time we finished in the Records, our session time was basically up. That happens sometimes because the Records take the time they need. She still wanted some Reiki on the table, so I gave her about fifteen or twenty minutes.

As we started the Reiki portion, she kept insisting that I clear her chakras.

In that moment I could feel what was happening. Even after all the insight that had just come through, there was still a hope that if I simply cleared the chakras everything would be fixed.

I don’t say that as criticism. It’s a very human reaction. When something feels complicated or painful, the mind looks for a simple mechanical solution.

But chakras don’t work that way.

They respond to patterns.

If the pattern continues, the energy will eventually follow it again.

That’s one of the reasons I love combining Reiki with the Akashic Records.

In the Records we can identify the root of a pattern instead of only addressing the energetic symptom. We can see where a belief formed, why it formed, and whether it is still serving the person today. When something is ready to be released, that shift can happen at a very deep level.

Then, when the client is on the Reiki table, the work becomes about restoring and stabilizing the system. Reiki fills the spaces that were drained or blocked and helps the body integrate the shift that just happened.

So the work is not just about clearing.

It’s also about rebuilding.

And this is the part I want people to understand.

I’m not here to fix you.

I’m here to work with you.

Healing works best when it’s a partnership. My role is to support the process, help you see patterns you may not have recognized before, and move energy where it needs to move. Your role is to notice those patterns in daily life and choose something different when the opportunity appears.

That’s where real change happens.

You are not broken. Most of the time you are simply patterned, and patterns can change when they are brought into awareness.

If you choose to add a thirty-minute chakra reset to a Reiki session, we can focus on a specific energy center and clear what is active there. Often that also brings awareness to the pattern that keeps activating that chakra in the first place.

If you want to go deeper, working in the Akashic Records allows us to look at the roots of those patterns and begin releasing them.

Either way, the work is collaborative.

And honestly, that’s good news.

It means your healing doesn’t depend on me being magical. It depends on your willingness to participate in your own growth.

That’s where real power lives.
