Reiki as a Daily Spiritual Practice

There’s a version of Reiki that focuses almost entirely on getting certified and starting a business, but that’s not how I teach it. My teaching is rooted in the original spiritual practice of Mikao Usui (founder of the Usui Reiki Ryōhō Gakkai in 1922). Before Reiki was something you offered to clients, it was a personal path. It was a way of living—a daily practice of meditation, self-reflection, and watching your own reactions. It wasn’t about building something outward. It was about building awareness inward, and that’s the foundation I teach from.

When you practice Reiki this way, it becomes less about what you do for others and more about how present you are with yourself. The precepts aren’t just words to memorize—they’re an invitation to examine your own habits and choices. You start noticing the ways you react, where you carry tension, what triggers you, and where you still resist or shut down. Over time, simply sitting with that awareness changes how you move through your life.

Holy Fire Reiki is part of the lineage I work with. It’s a modern form of Reiki energy that combines high-frequency spiritual energy with a soft, calming presence. It can help release old patterns, support emotional healing, and make the attunement process feel smoother and more grounded. Holy Fire isn’t the goal—it’s a tool that supports the larger journey of personal growth. The attunement opens the door, but your daily practice is what carries you through it.

I’ve seen what happens when Reiki is taught only as a skill. People learn the hand positions, they learn how to run a session, but they often skip the inner work. Reiki amplifies what’s already inside you. If you haven’t met your own patterns and shadows, it will bring them forward, and that can be unsettling if you’re not prepared. That’s why I teach it as a path of personal growth first.

That said, if a student wants to spend time learning practical things—how to set up a business, how to offer distance Reiki, how to charge for sessions—that’s absolutely something I cover. That’s the beauty of private, personalized classes: we can focus on the areas that matter most to you while keeping your spiritual development at the center.

Reiki, when practiced this way, becomes a lifelong companion. It isn’t flashy or dramatic, but it changes everything in quiet, steady ways that last. It’s not about achieving something quickly; it’s about remembering who you already are and learning to live with that presence every day.
