When the Mind Gets Loud
Unraveling Negative Thought Loops
Lately, a theme has been showing up in session after session—clients feeling tangled in old, heavy thought patterns. “I just can't stop thinking about the worst-case scenario,” one said. “It's like I'm on a mental hamster wheel,” another shared.
Are you on that hamster wheel too?
If this is you right now, know you're not alone. This isn’t just “overthinking.” It’s your nervous system asking for attention. It’s your energy body sending up flares. It’s something deeper calling for gentleness.
Here’s the truth: negative thought loops aren’t just mental—they’re energetic.
They build up over time, often born from fear, grief, disappointment, or survival mode. Sometimes they’re inherited. Sometimes they’re a result of holding yourself to impossible standards for way too long.
And while you can’t always “positive-think” your way out, you can shift the energy underneath.
In my Reiki and Akashic sessions lately, I’ve been witnessing a lot of people unraveling beliefs that sound like:
“I’m not doing enough.”
“I should be past this by now.”
“Something must be wrong with me.”
These thoughts aren’t true. They’re echoes, illusions, old patterns that got lodged somewhere deep, maybe even lifetimes ago. They come up to be seen, felt, and cleared. And the more we try to ignore or push them away, the louder they get.
So what helps?
Here’s what I often suggest—and what I do myself:
1. Name the loop.
Bring it to light. “Ah, here comes the old ‘I’m behind’ story again.” Naming it loosens its grip.
2. Don’t argue with it—breathe with it.
Meet the thought with your breath, not your resistance. “I see you. I’m safe now.”
3. Let your body get involved.
Reiki helps because it speaks to the places the mind can’t reach. Tuning forks, crystals, the Akashic Records—they all help shift things on a soul level.
4. Ask your higher self: Is this true? Is this mine?
The Records are especially powerful for this. So many of our loudest thoughts aren’t even ours.
5. Rest. Like real rest.
Your nervous system isn’t broken. It’s overwhelmed. Rest softens the static.
You don’t have to untangle this all on your own. If this post hits home, and you’ve been feeling caught in those loops, let’s work through them together—gently, with support. An Akashic Records session can help you remember what’s actually yours and start letting the rest go.
Because underneath the noise, your truth is still there. Waiting for space. Waiting for breath. Waiting for you.
With love from the quiet side,
Vickie
People sometimes think that if I’m channeling something—especially from the Akashic Records—it’s going to sound like a wise old wizard or some star being from another galaxy.
But here’s the thing: when I’m in the Records, I still sound like me.
